Hi I'm Lizzy!
I created Squishy Banana Studios to give kids and teens a way to express themselves and celebrate their inner superstars. With a background in childcare and a career in the Austin film industry, I merged my two loves together and created Squishy Banana Studios. I got my start at the Texas Film Commission and worked for Terrence Malick for quite a few years. I then set out on my own into the freelancing world, working on a number of commercials and feature length films in casting, locations, and production. We've been creating movies and dance moves since the spring of 2013. We'd love to create some movie magic with you! |

Where are you located?
We have an in-home studio located in far south Austin. We're able to keep our groups small while having so many locations available to use for our movie sets.
Is your business insured?
We are fully insured based on the strict guidelines of AISD.
Does Squishy Banana Studios provide their own equipment?
Yep! For film, we film on our own cameras and provide everything technical. We edit using iMovie and Final Cut Pro. We may ask parents to provide a few props or costumes depending on what our filmmakers come up with.
What will my child do during film camps and classes?
Each filmmaking experience is completely different and puts the control in the hands of the student. We write, direct, act, edit, and produce each short film completely from start to finish.
How does this filmmaking experience compare to others?
We believe in learning by doing. This isn't just any other class with an instructor and a lesson. Our filmmaking students get right in the action, creating a movie masterpiece from scratch and getting to see all their hard work on the big screen.
My child is shy. Will they fit in?
We pride ourselves in creating a safe and open environment where kids feel safe expressing themselves. No child gets left out, and each gets a chance to unleash their creative side while gaining confidence in the process.
